Alison-Madueke missing at the last FEC meeting under Jonathan
Nigeria's Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, was missing, as President Goodluck Jonathan, Wednesday, presided over the Valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council, FEC under his leadership.

NIGERIANCOMPATRIOT, gathered that this may not be unconnected with her recent trip to the United Kingdom, alongside President-elect, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

It was reported that Alison-Madueke, last Friday, jetted out to London via the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on the same British Airways flight, with Buhari. The flight, it was said left the airport at about 4.30am on its way to Heathrow Airport, London.

Sources, who witnessed the departure had disclosed that a mild drama took place at the airport as the minister raced ahead of her aides in a bid to catch up with Buhari, who had undergone airport screening before her.

It was learnt that the President-elect, who reportedly arrived the airport before the minister, was cleared first and he went straight into the aircraft.

The minister who ran to catch-up with Buhari, it was learnt, made frantic efforts to speak with him, during the six-hour flight, but to no avail. The flight was reported to have arrived at Heathrow in London at 2.15pm, but the passengers disembarked at 2.45pm.

Meanwhile, the Head of Buhari's Media team, Mallam Garba Shehu, disclosed on Wednesday, that his (Buhari) plane is expected to touch the ground of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at the early hours of Thursday morning. Keen observers of the ongoing political intrigues, have therefore kept their fingers crossed, if the 'powerful' petroleum minister will also touch down Nigeria with Buhari.

However, it was gathered that former President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, who was toppled by Buhari in a military coup in 1983, will be on board the same airline with the President-elect, who is expected to be sworn-in on Friday, May 29, at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
